July 2023 I had the pleasure of leading a 5-week textile project for GemArts’ South Asian Women’s Group. This experience was not only a celebration of creativity but also a testament to the power of community and cultural heritage. Throughout these five weeks, we explored the rich traditions of textile art, focusing on techniques such as tie-dyeing, embroidery, and sewing. The ladies poured their hearts into every creation, producing beautiful textile pieces. One of the highlights of this project was seeing these creations exhibited at the GemArts Masala Festival.
